Love – Wellness Essential Oil Blend

His love is deep. It is a never ending well from which we can draw all we need at any time. As Yeshua sat down next to the Samaritan woman in John 4, His whole being screamed love. She was astonished at how another human being could care so much for her, especially since He knew everything she had ever done. His love is marvellous. His love is beyond our wildest dreams. His love has no end.

Many times, especially during times of illness or hardship, we find ourselves feeling deserted from God and simply wanting something to envelop our being, almost like snuggling into the comfort of a soft, warm blanket on a cold day. We often view sickness and disease as God punishing us. How can a God who loves want us ill as well, we wonder? There are many answers to these questions and I am not going to go into any of the arguments. My prayer is that God in His love will answer you Himself.

Instead, I want to take you on journey with me, a journey available to any one of us at any time. Take the little bottle of Love essential oil in your hands. I invite you to draw closer and receive a little bit more of His love! Open the bottle and inhale the rich, deep aroma that quickly permeates the air. Inhale and relax…Now reach out and take His hand, for He is stretching out His love towards you. Open your heart for His love to flood your being. He is right there next to you—even during times of suffering.

Is God a god of love? Is God love? Does God love? Does God love people? Does God love you?

God once asked me questions along the same lines. My answer was an almost instantaneous, “Yes!” Yes, He is a God of love. Yes, He does love us. Yes, He does love me! Yes, the Scriptures prove His love for us. We are familiar with examples we read over and over again, like one of the most famous Scriptures in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Yet there is also another set of questions. Do you believe that God loves you? Do you believe that He loves you even in the midst of disease? Stop and ponder these questions. Without an answer, you cannot continue on this journey. If your answer is no, take the time to share it with Him. Take the time to find out why you cannot believe in His love for you and make a decision whether you are willing to give Him the chance to prove you wrong. If you answered yes, then take another deep breath and relax as I share the rest of my journey to discover God’s love for me.

As He gently walked me through the questions that explored my belief about His love for me, I made a discovery that started me to my core.

“You believe that I am love,” I heard Him say. “But do you FEEL LOVED right now?”

My immediate answer was NO! Yes, I do believe He is Love and that He loves me, but I did not feel that I am loved by Him. I want to ask you the same question: Do you feel loved by Him?

I started pondering what makes a human being feel loved. I realised that I do feel loved by many people, yet why was it different with God—even though I believed He is love and that He loves me. What was wrong? As you ponder the question—and your answer—don’t rush this journey. Take it step by step, for I believe that many may feel the same way I did.

As I continued to examine love, I realised a few truths. I realised that we often equate love to things done for us, gifts given to us, others listening to us, others obeying our commands, health, wealth, everything being in order, happiness and the absence of problems. If any of these things are lacking, we do not feel loved. I came to realise how skewed my image of love had become. Love is not synonymous with any of the items on my list. God loves us and we can feel loved even in the midst of deep sorrow and suffering—when all of the items of my love list are absent. I decided to change my outlook of what equals love. I asked God to come and renew my understanding of love—and He did!

However, I soon discovered another stumbling block along the way. Even though I could feel Him loving me now and I started to feel loved, I realised that I was unable to accept His love. But why?

I continued to dig and found two specific reasons for my inability. First, I had closed my heart to receiving His love due to previous experiences. (Here, I want to encourage you to take a deeper look into what is called our First Love Gate). Our experiences with love on this earth shape our thinking, understanding and experiences of love from God. I had to remove all these previous experiences with His help for His love to be able to enter my being once again without the obstacles blocking it. The other reason was that I was unable to trust Him. After my husband left for the heavens, I had often looked back on our journey with his illness and felt that God had deserted us and that He could not be trusted. I came to realise that if I could not trust Him, I would never be able to willingly accept His love. As a result, I would never be able to feel loved by Him—no matter how hard He tried. I had to bridge this trust issue.

I would like to share with you one instance in my journey that helped me along the way. I remember the evening vividly. It was during my husband’s illness and I was standing in our bathroom, feeling completely deserted by man and God. I was crying out for help, yet none came. I felt like life was utter darkness without the slightest ray of light to follow. My whole being cried out for help, but there was only silence. No answer, no feeling, no hope. Later, as I was on my journey with God, I eventually managed to work up the courage to ask Him about that specific evening. In fact, I left it until the very end of this trust journey. Yet finally I had the courage to tell Him: “God, You deserted me that evening. You left me alone.” Immediately, I was back in that evening in a vision and I saw it all unfolding. I told God that He didn’t need to show me that night again, since the trauma had clearly etched the picture into my heart’s memory and I could still remember everything as clear as if it was happening in the moment. I added: “Look! You were not there! I am all alone in that room.” God then gently asked me to shift my gaze and look next to me. As I turned my eyes to the spot right next to me, I could see Yeshua standing there with his face buried in His hands as if He was crying. What an amazing moment! In that instant I realised He could be trusted. In that instant my trust in Him was restored.

As the trust issue and many other of the hindrances in my life were fixed, I could finally accept His love and eventually came to a point where I am able to answer: He is love and He loves me and I feel loved.
