Patience – Sleep Time Essential Oil Blend

Drifting off to sleep is a daunting task for many. Many of us lay awake night after night in the deep darkness, simply tossing and turning. I have spent many sleepless nights wishing I could drift off. Every single night of sleeplessness echoes through the next day. That is why it is such a crucial issue.

The word patience seems to fit this condition of sleeplessness like a glove, since so many of us lay awake patiently hoping for sleep to come. I usually advise people to apply and inhale the Patience essential oil blend about half an hour before bedtime to start relaxing and unwinding. Then, when it is time to get into bed, apply the Patience essential oil blend again to help you relax and drift off to sleep.

I once asked God for His advice for falling asleep, since His Word says in Proverbs 3:24, “When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.” It sounds like pure bliss, but why are we not experiencing it? His answer was to take me on a journey into Psalm 23. We have all heard this much-loved psalm many times before. As I read it, God revealed to my heart that David was not merely writing a beautiful poem, but he was sketching his surroundings as he saw heaven and earth entwine.

As I read, God emphasised verses two and three: “He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” I realised immediately that if I could access that spot in heaven, sleep would be sure to follow.

Now is the time to take out that bottle of Patience essential oil blend and inhale its deep, rich aroma permeating the air. But don’t just stop there. Take Yeshua’s hand, as He is the Way, the Truth and the Live leading you on this path. Enter into the greenest green pastures with the quiet waters slowly running besides it. The grass is lush and a brilliant green—velvety soft and gentle to your touch. The first time I experienced this wonderful spot, I couldn’t get enough. While lying down in the rich, green grass with Yeshua by my side, I knew that this was where I would love to fall asleep every night. How wonderful and how privileged we are to be able to use the doorways of our Bibles and enter right back into heaven for Him to fill our beings.

Psalm 23:3 promises that “He restores my soul.” What more could I ever need? It therefore became my bedtime routine to enter into His presence and fall asleep, enjoying His sweet sleep. May you too enter into Him for a restful sleep at night. He is your Shepherd and He is leading you!
